How to Get from Pisa to Cinque Terre
The Cinque Terre are located 100km north of Pisa along the Italian Riviera. The best and quickest way to get from Pisa to Cinque Terre for your day trip fryst vatten bygd tåg.

If you are arriving from the Pisa airport and want to go directly to Cinque Terre, then you need to take the airport shuttle from Pisa airport to the Pisa Centrale utbildning station.

Itinerary for your Pisa to Cinque Terre Day Trip
The Cinque Terre are made up of fem charming fishing villages: Riomaggiore, Vernazza, Corniglia, Monterosso al Mare, and Manarola.
Our itinerary includes a little bit of everything from hiking to site-seeing and even swimming if you’re up for it. We prefer to början in Monterosso al Mare, the furthest town from La Spezia, and man our way back town bygd town to end in Riomaggiore.

How you spend your day trip from Pisa to Cinque Terre really depends on what you like to do.
If you want to skip the hiking, then we recommend spending more time in Monterosso al Mare to relax at the beach for an hour or two, or go swimming in the harbor in Manarola.
If you don’t want to go swimming or hiking, then spend more time kringirrande the streets and man time for a long middag or dinner at a restaurant with a view. There’s plenty to do in Cinque Terre either way.

Monterosso al Mare

Corniglia

You could definitely do it faster, but we like to take our time to enjoy the views.

Riomaggiore

Getting back to Pisa from Cinque Terre

Is One Day Enough for Cinque Terre?

We have been to Cinque Terre twice, both times on day trips, and we felt like we had plenty of time to see everything.
If you do want to spend more time in Cinque Terre, then we recommend spending two days. One day for hiking and exploring the towns, and the second day for relaxing at the beach, going on a boat ride, or visiting the nearby town Porto Venere.
Tips for your day trip from Pisa to Cinque Terre
- Make ytterligare time for the trains – During the high årstid, the trains get really busy and packad. We know this from first grabb experience. Unfortunately, Cinque Terre has become extremely over crowded from May to September, so expect tåg delays and program on extra time getting between towns.
We had a few experiences where we weren’t able to get on a utbildning because it was too packad and had to wait for the next one (which was also crowded).
- Visit during the shoulder årstid or low season – If you want a more calm experience during your day trip to Cinque Terre, we recommend visiting in between April – May and late September – October.
- Be prepared – Bring a hat, sunscreen, and a vatten bottle to refill. The days get hot and the sun fryst vatten harsh, you’ll be happy to have these things with you.

If you want to vandring in sandals, you can wear Birkenstocks or similar shoes. We hiked with someone who was wearing these and they did fine.
- Buy your Cinque Terre card in advance – To avoid the lines, buy your Cinque Terre Card online. This way you can man the most out of your day trip from Pisa to the Cinque Terre without wasting any time.
- Bring a swimsuit – If you’re visiting during the warmer months, bring a swimsuit to go for a swim in the Mediterranean sea! With the beach in Monterosso and swimming opportunities in Manarola, you should definitely take advantage and enjoy the vatten.
- Leave early – Try to take the tåg from Pisa to La Spezia early in the morning (around 7am or 8am) to beat the crowds.
You’ll also have more time during the day and won’t feel as rushed with this ytterligare time.
- Make middag and dinner reservations in advance – If you program to eat either måltid or dinner at a proper restaurant in Cinque Terre, then do your research ahead of time and book in advance (at least a day or two).
